What did I tell you?

Take a look at thisLook like familiar advice?  Two points here:

1) If a deal is completed, this is a great move by the Orange Bowl and ACC officials.  Take a look back at the chart I put together for the BCS Bowl game ratings and you see the Orange Bowl has always near the worst of the ratings.  This was capped off by an all-time BCS low in the 2012 Orange Bowl.  Despite your thoughts and opinions on Notre Dame, they are relevant and will bring TV ratings galore, especially on a New Year's Day Bowl.  The ACC, which has been a historic underachiever in the BCS era, could certainly use that Notre Dame viewership boosting.  This could prove a vital relationship as Notre Dame has had talks of moving their non-football sports to a new conference.  The ACC is clearly trying to gain favor with them in the hopes that Notre Dame football decides to end their independence.

2)  As details continue to emerge, doesn't this seem more and more like the BCS.  Notre Dame, again, will get some sort of special treatment and this will outrage fans everywhere.  But, before everyone starts screaming, it's important to note that this won't impact the playoff picture.  A selection committee will still rank the top 20 and only the top 4 will get in, so despite this arrangement, Notre Dame still needs to perform a hell of a lot better than the past several years.
